First I want to say, this is a safe place. A place for any mom. Whether you are a seasoned mama, first-time mama, single mama, foster mama, young mama, not-so-young mama, if you are a mom, you belong here. This website is for YOU. While you’re here, I hope you will feel empowered, supported, accepted, loved and celebrated.
I’ve had a lot of people ask me how I came to find The Local Mom’s Network. I can honestly say that I believe it was divine intervention. I woke up one morning thinking of how I could help local moms in my area and googled local mom networks. Much to my surprise, there was a website and I clicked on it. As I looked around The Local Moms Network site I saw there were locations all across the United States, but none in Kansas or Missouri. My interest piqued and then self doubt set in. I told myself that I wasn’t qualified and walked away. But something kept nagging at me and I couldn’t let it go. SO, I decided to send an email and find out what it was all about. Girl, I am so glad I did!! I truly believe that this came into my life so we could help each other.
My vision for this website is that it can not only be a resource for moms but also a community of local moms. Covid has done a number on our social lives but I think there is value in an online community. We can create that through Shawnee Area Moms. We are stronger together.
