Hey Mama! I’m so glad you are here.
First, I want to thank you for checking out this website. I’m not sure why you are here but I hope that you find something that helps you on your journey through motherhood. I became a mom 17 years ago. (That’s Jared in the picture with me!) I was in the process of making some major changes in my life when he arrived. The gift of motherhood was just what I needed to stop some self destructive behaviors and reposition my life on a path that would ultimately lead me to where I am today. I am not an expert on motherhood nor do I claim to be. I am a middle-aged (40-something) woman who has been through the school of hard knocks and came out on the other side victorious. I am a Christian and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. You may come across some of my beliefs as you navigate the posts on this site. I hope you will be open minded. I am not trying to convert anyone. I am just sharing my experiences.
I truly believe that it was divine intervention that led me to the Local Moms Network. It has been a vehicle for much personal growth and helped give me purpose during Covid. This opportunity came into my life soon after I discovered life coaching and the power of my thoughts and how to manage my brain. That is the work that I am truly passionate about. I want to share this knowledge with anyone who will listen. If you have a brain, you can benefit from a life coach. I am currently in the process of getting my life coach certification through The Life Coach school. My hope is that I can share nuggets of these concepts with you and it can benefit your life.
In addition to this, I will post meet-a-moms, local events, and highlight local businesses. I will create events and opportunities for local moms to connect and help women as they navigate their way through the ups and downs of motherhood. This is a safe, judgement-free environment. I want this to be a place for you to come and find refuge from the storms of life. If you don’t find what you’re looking for here, no sweat. I am not for everyone. But for those that I am here to help, I look forward to sharing what I know and what helps me as I navigate my most precious role, that of being a mother.
I have been blessed with 5 children: Jared, Brittany, Mason, Jett and Joshua. My husband, Keith, and I live in western Shawnee and love this community and the wonderful people in it. There is no place like home! (FYI, I used to be a blonde :))
