Have you guys been to the inclusive playground inside Shawnee Mission Park yet? It’s seriously a good time surrounded by gorgeous nature! We’ve been to some of the other inclusive parks (Leawood, Stilwell) but this one has some FUN features the others don’t. Look at the huge spider web for climbing! My kids love the adaptive swings and the spider web swing, too. The slides are fast, especially if you’re wearing the right pants! There’s a double decker sphere that spins, several other spinning buckets to sit in, a whole area of musical instruments, a chalkboard, and the “Sway Fun” platform that sways back and forth. In the middle is a toddler sized area. There’s also a water mister for those hot days. I will say there’s not a lot of seating here (though the picnic tables do have a built in checkers board, which is neat.) There is another playground near shelter 8 in the park, which we’ll need to try another day. Don’t miss this park – it’s such a good time!
FYI: upon entering the park, whether using Renner or 87th Street, there are signs that direct you to the inclusive playground.

Geocaches: none right near this playground, but two close by and many others around Shawnee Mission Park.
