Introducing Becca Lane as our Meet-A-Mom!!
How long have you lived in the Shawnee Area and why did you choose to live here?
My husband took a job here summer 2019 when I was 30 weeks pregnant with our second. That was a very hot moving day! We love it here and still have so much to explore!
How many children do you have and what are their age(s)?
I have a daughter that’s 4 and an 18 month old son.
What is your favorite part about motherhood?
I love seeing my kids grow and learn new things. I notice when my daughter makes connections between what we’ve read and things we encounter in the real world. My son is starting to speak more so when he is able to verbalize a new vocabulary word when he sees a picture or something in real life that’s just amazing!
What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I teach English online to children in China before my SAHM “work day” really starts.
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you with motherhood?
I’m so thankful for the community of moms in Moms Together! I have experienced the beauty of doing life together with other moms. We truly are better together.
What is your favorite family activity in the Shawnee Area?
My favorite family activity has been going to the KC Zoo or Shawnee Mission park for the frisbee golf with dad and over to the adjacent inclusive park when the kids are done with that.

How do you juggle this venture, while being a mom?
UBAM actually fits nicely around everything we already have going. I can work as little or as much as I want, and I try to only work on the computer during nap time. It’s been a great flexible fit for our family!
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
I believe all moms are better together. I’m encouraged when other moms admit that they’re experiencing the same challenges as me or they’ve weathered that particular storm and share tips to help others.
