How long have you lived in Shawnee? What made you decide to live here?
We moved to Shawnee on my husband’s birthday in 2016. After spending months looking for a house in a tough market, an offer on our current house fell through for the sellers. I was lucky enough to catch the relisting and put an offer on it that night- even though my husband was out of town. The house was perfect for us.
How many children do you have and what are their age(s)?
I have two children. My daughter Vivienne is 5 and my son Beau is 3.
What’s your favorite family activity (in Shawnee Area)?
In the winter, it is definitely sledding at Stump park. During the summer we really enjoy the parks and going swimming – especially at the “shark swimming pool!” (Stoetaert)
Where’s your favorite place to eat and/or shop in your town?
My kids love to eat at Fritz’s – what’s not to love about the trains?! My go-to is Pegah’s because they have everything. You can’t beat Blind Box BBQ either.
One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
I am a reality TV addict!!
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
The fact that it takes a village has not been lost on me. My parents have gone above and beyond helping us with childcare. I sometimes think they see my kids more than we do. We also met the most amazing babysitter through my husband’s co-worker. Trisha is the most amazing and patient caregiver and my kids love her. I think my son would be lost without his Mondays and Fridays with Trisha….I may be a little jealous. 🙂

I am a partner in a dental practice*. I graduate dental school in 2007 and just recently set down roots in my own practice in 2018. Although it takes a lot of my time and attention, I love it. I am proud of my success and the goals I have for myself. I hope my kids learn something from it.
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
Living in Shawnee has done amazing things for me. Thanks to being around other families and especially moms, I have been a more open person. I love when mom’s introduce themselves and chat at the park or store. Sharing experiences with other mom’s helps me feel like less of a failure as a mom and has grown my confidence.
