Introducing….Dr. Kenya Laser | Shawnee Area Moms

I’m thrilled to introduce you to this Mama! Dr. Kenya Laser is a mom and founder of Laser Chiropractic. You will enjoy reading about her! She is multi-talented and a real sweetheart! Let’s Begin…..

Where are you from originally and what made you want to live in this area?

I’m from Michigan City, IN. I moved to Overland Park to attend Chiropractic School and fell in love with the city, people and community.

How old is your son? Do you think about having more children?

My son is 3yo and his name is, Lincoln Kash. 🙂 Oh Yes, we’d love a full family. The number of children we’d like to have seem to change with the season hahah but short answer is we will try for more.

What are some of your favorite things about raising a family in this area?

My favorite thing about raising a family in this area is no matter your hobby you have a community. People are friendly and willing to help and you can find things to do and people to do them with no matter the age of your children and stage of your life. <3

What is your favorite part about motherhood? What is your least favorite mom job?

I have a lot of favorites but one thing I love is the constant learning, growing and adapting as our family dynamic changes. It is chaotic but there are so many things to learn about. My least favorite part is how time starts to fly. How what used to feel like a week feels like 48hrs.

What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

I would be considered short as a basketball player but I played Division 1 basketball and became the All-Time leading scorer in men and women’s basketball and was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Tell us about your practice and what inspired you to become a chiropractor?

I center my practice around love and healing. I treat all walks of life while meeting each individual where they are on their health journey. I always knew that I wanted to help the people heal and once I found out what chiropractic could do. I was all in! Link to website.

How do you juggle your business, while being a mom?

I don’t juggle the two at all. When I’m in the office I’m a full time chiropractor and I focus on serving every single person that walks through our doors. When I’m at home I’m a full time mom/wife for my family!

What’s the best part of being a chiropractor? What’s the hardest part of your job?

Serving is the best part of being a chiropractor. Serving looks different for every patient but it’s the best part hands down. The hardest part is witnessing the chronic pain and dysfunction.

We are all about community, as are you! What does having a mom tribe mean to you?

Having a mom tribe means having a collective mind, heart and understanding of a world many people don’t always get. A tiny community of hope!

Who has most influenced you to be the mom you are today?

I don’t think being a mom means bearing children. Many mother figures in my life have shaped the human and inevitably the mother I am today. My mother and mother in law are huge factors and my husband and son have played a major part in the mom I am becoming.

Anything else you’d like to share?

Thank you for creating this community. It is beyond social media and insight to events. It’s a hub for families to create experiences, make friends and improve their quality of life. <3
